Test drove another Buick that was acting funny?

I was test driving a 2009 Buick Lacrosse CXL, and the LED screen below the speedometer was acting strange. I had it on cruise control, and it said I was getting 18mpg. For the next few minutes it was steadily rising all the way to 40mpg. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Dumbasses at the dealership thought I was a sucker.?

I went to look at a 2008 Buick Lacrosse Super (LS4 V8) at a local dealership. I know that it had a blown head gasket, white smoke from the driver side tailpipe, and after 3 minutes of idling the temp gauge was 1/3 of the way to the redline. The other issue I am wondering about even though I am passing on the vehicle, I noticed 1/3 of the driver side window was fogging up while driving no heat or A/C was on. Anyone know what would cause that? I meant 1/3 of the drivers side windshield. Thanks for the info pilsner man, but buicks are just as dependable as hondas and toyotas. Thanks country boy, But there was something seriously wrong with it. When I told the salesman in the car that I was taking automotive technology courses, his whole demeanor changed, he stopped being talkative and was obviously nervous. My exact thoughts are the guy who traded it in was racing it, and overheated it.

What happens if my co-signer dies?

I am looking at getting a 2008 Buick Lacrosse Super. I am 23, have no credit score and have never made payments on anything. The two people most likely to co-sign are my grandparents. My grandmother is 70, just diagnosed with stage 3 non small cell lung cancer, and my grandfather is 77, but he is at the point in his life where he sleeps all the time, and seems confused a alot. Would I be expected to find another co-signer immediately, facing repossession? I live in Virginia if there are any state laws pertaining to this matter.

Has anyone had any major problems with their 2010 Buick Lacrosse?

I have a friend who has taken her car back to the Dealer five or six times for a ABS light problem . The dealer says it's a wireing problem but cannot seem to get it fixed.

I have a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. the heater does not get hot. In fact at times blows cold air. What could it be?

Do you think GM cars last as long, longer or less long than GM Cars from 2002 (10 years ago)?

I ask because I have a 2002 Buick Lesabre and I am curious if say a 2012 Buick LaCrosse is built as good, better, or not as good. The Lesabre has the 3800 Series 2 3.8L V6 engine which is one of GM's best ever. I am hoping to get at least 5 more good years out of the car. What I basically am asking is are they built better now, as good as 10 years ago (which wasn't isn't that great) or worse? The car has needed many costly repairs in the past year. Catalytic Converter, Manifold Gasket, Transmission Line to Radiator, Struts, new Motor Mounts, new ignition coils. Do you think new Buick's will need all of these repairs after 9-10 years of regular use? How do Honda's and Toyota's compare to Buick's and Chevy's? I am mainly focused on Civic/Accord and Corolla/Camry. It seems like my family has had better luck with GM's in the late 80's and early 90's than late 90's early 2000's. My dad had a 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity get over 270,000 miles on the original engine before it died. My mom had a 1991 Lesabre give 14 good years of performance and my grandmom had a 1990 Chevrolet Lumina last 19 years until 2009. Yet my dad had a 1998 Oldsmobile 88 not even reach 100,000 miles and die after around 7 or 8 years and a 2003 Chevy Impala need a rebuilt engine at 55,000 miles (even with regular oil changes). Did GM actually decline in quality over that period, rather than keep getting better like Toyota and Honda? The 98 Oldsmobile was boight used in 2001 when it was 3 and the 2003 Chevy was bought in 2006 when it was 3. While in my dad's ownership they were maintained very well. Either they were pieces of junk of the previous owners did not take care of them in the 3 years before. My dad also had a 1989 Buick Century get around 200,000 miles over 12 years of good performance. I can't think of one bad GM car they had from the late 80's early 90's and I cant think of one good one from the late 90's early 2000's. I'll probably end up getting a Honda, Toyota or a Nissan.
