What would you have...?
If you could have any old American muscle car, what would it be? I would really rather have a Buick!
Question about transmission fit.?
Will a pontiac, olds, buick transmission turbo 350 bolt up to a chevy small block? Or do all small blocks have the extra holes for either transmission?
When I accelerate in 2000 Buick Regal it feels like the front end is going over constant speed bumps?
It does not make the bumpy feeling in park when I rev it. I put it on stands and tested it and it ran fine. It only happens on the road accelerating. Anyone know what the problem might be? I do not think its the engine because it only happens on the road. In park i can rev it fine. Can it be transmission or shocks are something? thanks in advance!
whats the cheapest way to get my lights to stop dimming?
i have the MTX terminator package. 2 twelves (250 rms each) and the non satisfying, smaller, terminator, amp (250 rms monoblock) i know im underpowering so i want a bigger amp. its in a 99 buick park avenue which already uses alot of luxary power...i would think and the system now already makes everything dim kinda bad. i want at least a 500 rms mono.but how can i stop the dimming from getting worse.(buick has a stock altenator, new battery and a capasitor is last result because i dont trust them i like my car not on fire. help please ps...how much rms would be to much for my subs i want them to thump hard
FIRST AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR?
I'm 17 and looking for my first car. I have heard more "If I had bought a nice small, fuel-effecient car when I was Your age..." speeches, I could die. So if you'd like persuade me...go away. Otherwise, i've got $7,000 to spend and I need some advice. I've been looking at 80's - early 2000's camaros and vetts. I want some genuine american muscle. I quickly learned how ambitious my craigslist searches for 70 buick GSX's and 69 camaros and GTO's were but I'm confident theres some combination of badass muscle and affordability out there. I just down have the knowledge or experience to know what it is. Any advice is appreciated.
Wouldn't YOU really rather have a Buick?
I know they have had their ups and downs, but wouldn't YOU really rather have a Buick?
JP Kwik epoxy on a cracked oil pan?
over the weekend i cracked my oil pan in my 2001 passat wagon- 2 somewhat small cracks, i was going to just get a new pan or try to weld the old one but doing either would cost over 300 to remove it/put it back in (the welder wont weld with the pan still on because of fire risk). Ive been looking at other options and found JP kwik epoxy. All i need is for it to hold for a couple months
I looked into it and found the post below.
Depending upon where the leak is and how large, here is another possible fix that you can use and one which does not likely require the removal of the oil pan (hard to say, it depends upon where the leak is): Quick-setting epoxy with a metal patch.
I successfully used this fix on my 1988 Buick transmission pan (which can run hotter than the engine oil pan), and the repair lasted for over 15 years before the epoxy finally came off the pan and I had to redo it. I used JB Weld (the quick-set version which hardens in 5-10 minutes, I think the trade name is "JB Kwik").
Find a piece of metal (thin aluminum works great) that is a bit larger than the area you are trying to repair. Form it to closely fit over the repair area, if necessary. Scuff up (for best epoxy adhesion) the repair side of the metal with 80-grit emery paper and then degrease (carb cleaner or brake cleaner work well). Also scuff up the oil pan surface around the leaking area at the same time.
Now, mix up the JB Weld on a non-porous disposable surface (I use old plastic CD-roms or broken CD cases) and apply it to the metal patch. The clock is now ticking! You've only got a few minutes to work before the epoxy gets firm.
Quickly degrease the oil pan repair area and blow dry with compressed air. Immediately apply the patch to the area with firm, even pressure and hold it there for a few minutes until the epoxy sets up. The epoxy will reach full strength in 24 hours, but you should be able to drive the vehicle after 15-30 minutes.
Now if the oil is leaking out so quickly that you can't degrease the area on the oil pan and apply the patch before more oil comes out, you'll probably have to drain the pan before attempting to do this (assuming that the leaky area is below the normal oil level in the pan). The degreasing step here is CRITICAL. If you have any oily film on the surface of the pan when you apply the epoxy, forget about this fix working.
If you can't or don't want to attempt to do this yourself, print this out and go find an independent mechanic that will do this for you. You shouldn't get charged more than one hour of shop time for this procedure, and you may want to procure the epoxy and the piece of metal yourself, as the shop may not have these items on hand.
Is there any reason why The 1986 Buick skyhawk t-type was discontinued? Please give as much info.?
I'm wanting to know were there any defects with the 1986 buick skyhawk T-type at all. Why they were discontinued, are they worth repairing, etc.
how do i adjust the brake pedal on my 1997 buick park avenue?
I have a 1997 buick park avenue and the brake lights remain on when I turn off the engine. my mechanic claimed he adjusted the brake pedal, however, the lights still remain on, which drains my batter.
How do I replace the turn signal switch In my 1995 Buick Regal GS...?
My son yanked on the turn signal switch and now my brake lights and turn signals quit working(only the FRONT LEFT blinker works...weird) And the only brake light that workes is the one on my luggage rack. And instead of the blinker switch moving like its supossed to (up, middle, down) it moves like 5 notches so it deffinatly needs to be replaced. What tools would I need and how do I replace it?
