why my '98 dodge caravan not shifting in to park gear?

i recentlypurchased a rebuilt tranny for my '98 dodge and de gear shift is not shifting in to park. i have to start the vehicle in neutral and put gear shift in reverse to remove key. why is that. the thing is the vehicle is overseas so i couldn't take it back to gibraltor to see what the problem is. any ideas as to why it's not shifting in to park. i have to use the emergency brake to park the vehicle but it is difficult to do so on an incline

What year did Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge start using the "pentastar" on their cars (not in ads)?

I know this logo started in the 60's, but when exactly did it become the main logo for all three divisions (before they bought AMC/Jeep/Eagle)? Seems like it was on blue Chrysler-Plymouth and red Dodge dealership signs before the big 1987 AMC deal. The original Caravan/Voyager and K cars always had this logo. So did the Spirit/Acclaim, Daytona/Laser, and Chrysler LeBaron. My family's main two cars when I was growing up were a 1987 Dodge Daytona and 1995 Dodge Caravan.

After returning from a trip out of town and stopping at a stop sign my 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan wouldn't go.?

The motor would rev up for a few seconds then the van went about 50 feet and wouldn't go any further. I turned it off waited several minutes and tried again with the same results. Do you have any idea what my problem would be?

Dodge Caravan rear window leaking?

I was washing my van yesterday and noticed that the rear window leaks. It's a window with just a handle that locks/unlocks to open it. Now I wouldn't care all too much but I have a sub an amp back there. How can I fix this?

Just changed my brakes, bled the lines and brake pedal goes to floor. Was fine before I changed anything?

Any suggestions? Was just wondering what I missed. Fluid level was fine before we changed anything. Hope that is enough info. 07 Dodge Grand Caravan Seems as though the garage I took it to can't figure it out. They changed the master cylinder and bled the brakes, including the ABS. And still no brakes. Had to have it towed to the dealership. Will post when they figure out what the problem is......

Is there any way to fight a car dealership's "bait and switch" scam?

So about a month ago I went to a dealership after seeing a beautiful 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan sitting out front for just $2000. The mileage was extremely low, and it was immaculate. But when I went in to inquire about it they told me it was sold, and immediately directed me to another van on their lot that was priced for four times as much. When I asked why the Dodge had been so low when it was a better quality vehicle he gave me a run-around story about it being a private sale by another employee. I ended up leaving. Every week I drive by and the van's still there. Now a month later it's still there. I stopped in again, got a different sales person, and he told me the van had just sold a few hours before I came in. When I told him I'd been told that a month ago he told me I was mistaken and it'd only been on the lot for a day. Basically he called me a liar to my face. So I left again. It's obvious the dealership is using this vehicle to scam people into stopping in. Can I do anything about it?

Is it illegal in illinois to see a van with an airbag light on?

I recently bought an "as is" mini van that had an airbag light on. I was told that they wouldn't fix it but I could take it to my local dealer to have it fixed. The van is a 2005 dodge caravan with 71k on it. I bought it for $7500 from a reputable dealer out of town. I took the van to my local dealer to have them check it out. Turns out that when they put their computer on the van it won't even read the codes for the airbag light! They tried numerous times. They told me that they wouldn't have sold a van like that and that it would be $500 as least to replace the module so that their computer could read it. I was told by a man at work that it's illegal for any dealer or private sale for any of the van's safety features to not be intact when sold. Anyone know what I can do about it? I have a 1996 Dodge Caravan, and when I put on the brakes they went all the way to the floor?

When they went to the floor I heard a crunching noise, and I felt it in the brake pedal. What could be the cause of this type of problem? It doesn't have any fluid leaks from the drums to indicate a wheel cylinder. The front pads and calipers were just changed, and are bleeding just fine. It only goes to the floor if the car is started, so I was thinking it was the brake booster, and was asking around to see if anyone else would think the same thing could be the problem. I figured that is why there was the crunch and the feeling in the pedal.

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan no spark problems?

I have a 2004 Dodge Caravan 6 cylinder 3.3 Liter engine and the code scanner is saying that cylinder 3 and 4 have no spark. I changed the wires and the coil packs but the problem persists. I used a spark plug tester and it is showing that there is no spark at all. I changed the wires and the coil packs again and it is the same problem. I also changed the spark plugs and still giving me the same problem. Those two cylinders are still good, I did a compression check so I know the engine is still good. I checked the fuel injectors and they are good too. What Could it be?
