Why is my dodge Durango overheating?

I have a 2000 dodge Durango v8 5.2l 2wd. This morning after driving it for about an hour and a half I turn it off for 5 minutes. When I started it again it started to heat up really fast. After a couple minutes driving it cooled off. Then at the gas station it dis the same thing when I started it but this time it actually got hot enough to make the gage light come on then it cooled off again. I think it might be the water pump but it could be something else. Any advice would be appreciated

Question about what could have happened if i would have been rear ended?

They had a Dodge Durango going at least 60 (speed limit 45), I have a Ford Focus compeltely stopped (there was one car going the opposite direction had to wait for them to pass) about to make a left hand turn. I looked up in my rear view mirror and see that he is going entirely too fast. I think maybe I should turn real quick, he then goes on the drivers side of my car to avoid me going 40 at least. So i recap i was almost rear ended, then since he evade the rear ended i was almost t-boned. I would like to know what would have happened had he hit be either of those times?

This might be a really weird question but I just bought my first car and I want to give it a name! I named the red Dodge Durango I was driving before Tony as a joke at first but it became really fun to just refer to my car as Tony. I have a 98 Dodge Durango that has the 5.2 with 4 wheel drive This thing has been boggin down since I have had it sometimes it will drive great but sometimes it will have its moments where it will bogg down like its gonna lose power BUT NEVER DOES if im at a stop sign sometimes it will try to lunge forward while my foots on break. WE thought it was a computer problem so have replaced that and it is still doing it. There are alot of things that have been replaced ( NO CODES are coming up ) mechanics have looked at it HAVE no idea just been guessing and so far haven't been right. Theres new fuel pump on it and pressure is fine THERE is not a cadallic convertor on it and theres a 02 sensor bad but everyone tells me that wouldnt cause it to do this Seems to bog more oftenly when its colder so ( AT NIGHT ) but does do it during the day also its very frusterating not knowing what this problem is and have dumped loads of money into it trying to find out what it is !!!!!!!!!! please help does anyone have any ideas of what it could be?

what kind of car could you afford with 100k per year?

i pretty much know generally, but im only 22 years old and dont really know everything about paying for a house/car payment etc... for a salary of 100k/year what kind of car could you afford while also having a decent house and all that. i know my dad makes between 115k - 120k each year, but he drives a 2010 jetta and my mom drives a 2002 dodge durango.. they live in a 400k house (probably less actually). and they are always saying that we aren't rich and dont have a lot of money. i know theyre really smart with money and financially stable and well off, but most of my friends' parents make quite a bit less and have porsche's and audis and such..... basically im just wondering how much money 100k/ year really is when everything else is being paid for, how great of a car can you really afford?

It only does it at idle with in the first 10 minutes of driving when it is still not warmed up yet and only when like I said at idle with my foot on the brake like at a stop sign , any help would be greatly appreciated .
