Ok, so I'm looking for an unbiased and nonjudgmental opinion on a serious relationship matter. By this I mean I want those offering their insight on this matter to be serious and look at the outside matter with rational rather than emotion. So without further ado
Me and my girlfriend (yes another relationship advice question) just got done with a fight. As you can probably imagine I'm slightly upset right now. I'm going to try and be as factual and understanding on both points of view as I can and give clear, honest information.
My girlfriend Jackie has been living with me the last 8 months of our one year relationship. About a month ago she has discovered to a degree that I still look at porn. I'm a fan of hentai, I was into anime when I was younger and it appealed to me, and since I was 11 I have stored pictures I have really liked on my computer. I find it to be a harmless and less disgusting form of pornography.
My girlfriend knows from my best friend that I have amassed a few thousand pictures by now and she is upset at me. She is a very pretty girl but I am a nineteen year old boy (I am by no means a man yet) and I am very much in love with her and have tried hiding my stash from her but she is very...snoopy to say the least and has found out.
The last few days have been hell, she has been telling me for weeks she'd rather know when I look at porn than find out because it feels to her like I'm hiding something from her. Against my better judgement I trusted her and now she is so completely miserable she can barely contain herself. She argues that a fair compromise would be to delete some, probably the majority of the hentai.
From her perspective, at least from what she told me it makes her feel completely miserable that I look at other girls, even if they aren't realistic. (She is going to type from now on as she is snoopy and has been watching me type this)
Jackie: This is what I feel and why i even brought it up in the first place. I know he enjoys it but when he told me he needed to stay attracted to me i dont believe this is reasonable. He has almost 3 thousand pictures of girls that are anime. Hes still a great guy that i love very much, it just pulls at my heart knowing he needs other women to satisfy that part of him. I have truly tried to understand how he has a fantasy and i do, but understanding doesnt make it hurt anyless. I brought it up really just because it was bugging me more and more each day i saw it. I even went as far as telling him it was ok and i wanted to share that part of his life with him, which i rather do that have it hidden but as human as i am, i just wanted to know if i asked him to delete it all, would he. He told me he had worked on his collection since he was 11yrs old at at 19yrs old thats a long time. The fact that its a collection and not just porn makes it hurt that much more because its not just porn its a part of his lifestyle. I of couse as most makes me feel less because i will never be those girls and i really just wanted him to understand it was hurting me and if there was a compromise we could work out so i could feel less unhappy about him looking at other women to get off sexually.

She wants me to compromise with her to delete the majority of it and I refuse. For one, when I have gone time without looking at it trying to be a moral person and such I became so irritable that I would pick fights with her over nothing and I would not touch her for two weeks, it just appalled me the very thought of it. The fact of the matter is for me I need variety in my sex life, I'm a 19 year old boy and I'm for the most part a good person, I don't cheat or do anything with other girls other than honestly being friends, I do my best at school and on the job, I'm moderately social with friends and I'm a gamer, but I do need variety in my sex life. When I've asked her to provide it she has tried but when we do anal she bleeds horribly, doing it to porn appalls her, and she refuses to bring in another girl even though she says she's bi-curious. Since she cannot provide the variety I'm seeking I look at hentai to try and provide the variety but now she's fighting over that too. I don't know what to do, I love her a lot and don't want to breakup with her but the last few weeks have been rough. If she forced me to get rid of the entire collection I may actually be tempted to leave her. I do not feel a bad person for this because I've done a lot for her as she has for me, but I find it unreasonable she would force me.
