How old do you think you should be before buying a V8?

So, basically, i have found a car that I would like to buy and do up. It's only $1500 NZD. Its a 3.5 litre V8 and my parent wont let me buy it. im 17, 18 in abouit 3 weeks. I have been driving for 3 years and never crashed. What are your opinions on this? oh i have driven Ford Falcon 4litre (4000cc) and my usual car is a 1.8l (1800cc) VW Golf. their reason for not letting me get it, is that they say i need to learn a lot more before i get a car with that amount of horsepower My bad, it doesnt say how much HP it has on the auction :( Also, its uses about the same amount of fuel per 100km (miles per gallon) as the other car i was looking at buying. I'm paying for fuel, not my parents, so dont ask that either please :P

how to install footwell lights on a ford falcon BA 2003?

I'm trying to install LED strips under the dash of my car. I want the LED lights to illuminate when I unlock the car/open the door. So, I have to tap into the interior lights/dome lights. where are the interior light wires? where can i tap them from?

Car sat 2 months, now hesitation @ <20% throttle and flatspot at 3k rpm?

So the accessory belt snapped, the brakes stuffed up, as a result the car sat unused in the garage for 2 months. Now today the brake pads/rotors were replaced, accessory belt replaced, jumper leads hooked up, and it ran fine. Next drive, ran like a pig, would not take anything more than 20% throttle off the line or it just bogs down and you go no where (scary at roundabouts) If held in first (auto) and given the beans, it goes hard till around 2.5K RPM, then dies. Due to the really tall gearing I didn't have a chance to get it over 4000RPM or so without breaking the speed limit. After refuelling it with some premium fuel, as I assumed the stuff in the tank went stale, and it was low grade when new, it started running perfectly again, plenty of power, wheelspin off the line. Next start up, running like a pig again. Any ideas what could cause this to happen? was going brilliantly before it sat for 2 months. It's a Ford Falcon AU series 2, 2001. Engine is the I6, 4 speed auto.
