How does this circuit work?

This is a set up for a lab: http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3640/lab2setup.png The point of the lab is to obtain the diode's I-V characteristics. We use the Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) to send a sawtooth wave into the non-inverting input of the op amp and using the min and max values of the wave, we can use the output of the op amp to get the I-V characteristic. We adjusted the amplitude of the saw tooth and recorded the min and max values. What confuses me is how this records the I-V characteristics of the diode. I labeled each branch that has a different voltage to make it easier to talk about. This is what I think: For positive voltages (V_max) from the AWG, B < C - the diode is off. So the diode is reverse bias, meaning that it has practically infinite resistance, and by Ohm's law: I = V/(infinity) = 0. So there is no current going through the 10 KOhm resistor (and thus no voltage drop), so A = B. For negative voltages (V_min), B > C - so the diode turns on. Near 0V, the diode has non-linear I-V characteristics. So there is a non-zero voltage potential from B to C, meaning current is flowing and the 10kOhm resistor is eating voltage. C< 0 and the resistor subtracts voltage, so D < C. As A increases, the diode's resistance approaches zero and the the voltage eaten by the 10 K resistance approaches infinity.. Is this correct? I feel like I'm so confused. :( lol, I meant the diode's resistance approaches zero, so the voltage dissipated by the 10 K resistor goes to infinity. In other words, D approaches negative infinity... I think. I think this is what you were asking for: Set the output of the AWG to sawtooth (ramp) and increase the amplitude from 100mV to 1V in increments of 0.1 V I think the most important thing is the amplitude and min and max values.. I'm not sure how other waveforms would affect the results. I imagine they wouldn't. Ohhh. The resulting waveform on the oscilloscope looked just like the input, actually. Haha. Now that I think about it, I guess that should be obvious. It started to somewhat bend towards the min value as I increased the amplitude though. I'm not sure why that is.

I have been into kpop for a while now, but I am still constantly looking for more and more!! Here are the groups that I am already familiar with and like: SHINee B2ST Infinite Secret Super Junior Wonder Girls U-kiss 2am 2pm B1A4 I know pretty much everything from these groups, plus pretty much all of the "famous" songs, but if you really want to suggest something from them anyway, go ahead! Mostly I am looking for anything that will make me say "WOW" and drop my jaw and make me become obsessed within 5 seconds. It can be super old, super new, boys, girls, group, solo - whatever! What is your philosophy on "death"?

I believe life is only dream. Existence but a brief moment of the universe experiencing itself through the senses. Nothing "dies" in the universe, your energy (spirit) simply seeps into other dimensions after having exhausted its bodily existence to experience unimaginably different realities with altered senses governed by unusual law of physics in this infinite cycle. Just my thoughts, could be wrong.

Consider the elements A = |0 -1| and B = |0 1| from SL(2, R). Find |A|, |B|, and |AB|. Does your |1 0| |-1 -1| answer surprise you? Can you explain exactly how the order is obtained. I have found that the order for A is 4, B is 3, and AB is infinite, but I want to understand why as well.

Is the original Bioshock game good?

So I'm curious about this game. I know its old and dated, but I was curious to try it out before Infinite comes out. (I know they have nothing to do with each other). So I'm curious on people opinions. Was it a good game, worth getting? Also about how much is it worth buying it used? Or would it be better to save for newer games coming out this year?

i was watching a tv show that had brian cox in it, he was explaining that eventually all matter in the universe will reach absolute zero and infinite entropy, and that will be how the universe will last forever. he said that wouldn't happen for a LONG time. if you have seen the show, he says trillion about 8 or 9 times, how many zeros is that? p.s. i can calculate scientific notation, so you don't have to type all those numbers.

Is this just a typical teenager phase?

I'm 15, and I've just been feeling incredibly sad. i don't mean like, "oh this sucks." I mean I literally feel completely empty. I just sit in my room and stare at the wall. Everytime I think of my future I don't see anything, just like an empty timeline filled with infinite sadness. And it's not like I have a big reason to. I guess my childhood was bad, but now I have a normal life. I have friends, good grades, but that doesn't help what so ever. I told my best friend about it, and she said "are you breathing? if so, you're alright." but what if breathing isn't enough? I've thought of suicide, but I feel I'd be way too selfish to ever intentionally hurt myself. But i don't mind the thought of dying. I haven't really told anyone about this, but it just completely and utterly sucks. It's scary, and I'm worried. I feel incredibly alone all of the time, and it's gotten to the point of where I just feel like lying in bed and sleeping forever. Should I talk to someone?

If the universe is continously expanding then is there an infinite amount of space?

So if the universe is continuously expanding, is there an infinite amount of space? I mean, won't the universe eventually stop somewhere? Won't it meet a dead-end and just stop expanding? Or is it that the universe will stop at a dead-end but continue to expand, making everything cramped together? Do we know for a fact or just a hypothesis? All this scientific events are fascinating me and I want to know more!!!
