I need help with my story what can you add to make it better?
We have to write a creative writing piece about our favorite place for English (I'm doing a skiing mountain). I really want to get an Excellence (An A in other countries). I don't think my story is good enough to get an Excellence so please add/ remove some bits to make it better. Or give me some advice. The 2nd Draft is due in 4 days and I'm freaking out. PLEASE help :) Here it is:
Mt Ruapehu
The car hummed intently as we closer and closer to our destination. Trees consume my field of vision. Tall pine trees are dotted along the black tar road. Their green foliage blend perfectly into the dry hostile environment. A shaft of sunlight beams through the thin glass window exposing the hidden objects strewn across the dirty car floor. Empty bottles, packets of chips and lollies that sit lonely in an open wrapper reveal the events of the day.
"We're almost here", I hear my sister say excitedly. I could spot the mountain in the distance. It's sharp inclines that meet at the snowy covered tip sends a shiver down my spine. It's presence is calming. The mountain was covered in a thin blanket of snow which hid the jagged rocks beneath it. The view was idyllic. The icy blue sky complemented the lofty slope.
The car slowed and then came to a complete halt. "We're here", I told myself. I ran out of the white Mitsubishi slamming the door behind me. Hundreds of bodies walked towards the slope as if a magnet was drawing closer and closer.
I knelt slowly into the snow. I could already feel the sharp cold seeping into my dry clothes. I ripped off my glove and plunged my hand deep inside of the snow. The snow tickled my hand sending cold shock waves beneath my skin. "This day couldn't get any better", I told myself before running frantically toward the snow.
P.S This piece is only meant to be 150-300 words. So it has to be short but sweet. Thanks soooo much I'm looking forward to all of your answers

I can't get the Wii to display on my TV..?
This is kind of tricky to explain, but probably easy to fix I just don't know how to. So I have an old TV and I have Sky digital set up with it. To play the Wii I usually have to press the 'tv' button on the sky remote then the red button on the sky remote. I was playing the Wii earlier on today and now I just can't get it to come on the TV on the normal channel that I usually play it on, or any other channel but the sky channels still work. I changed the batteries in the Sky remote about 15 minutes ago, could that have anything to do with it? Can someone please tell me how to fix this? My television is a really old Mitsubishi model (has the whole big 'box' part at the back) and I don't know the model number or anything. Please help :c
Why won't my car start?
Okay, so I have a Mitsubishi Lancer ES and it won't turn on! When i turn the key everything else turns on but the car. Sometimes it takes me about 40-65 minutes to get it up and running. It only has 103037 thousand miles exact so I'm not sure what is wrong with my car. I have a 48 month warranty on my car from where I bought it, but they won't do anything about it, this started happening approximately 1-3 weeks after I got my car. It also won't accelerate on the free way. The dealership WILL NOT do anything about it I even went there when i first noticed it but they said that everything is at my own expense. I have no idea what is wrong with the car i went to Firestone or something like that to see what is wrong but they were really expensive and everything came to be around 998 dollars and some change
Shopping for a Small SUV
We are in the process of researching our next vehicle. We're looking for a small 4-wheel drive (or all wheel drive) SUV that will pull through the snow but will also get good gas mileage. I think we've narrowed it down to the Patriot, Outlander Sport and Grand Vitara. If you have any experiences with these vehicles, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts/suggestions. Which one should we get?
Please don't bother with the "They're all weak and you should spend the money to get a ... you name it (CRV, Rav 4, Escape, Equinox, etc.)" arguments. I know how much I have to spend, and I don't have the money to throw extra thousands into one of those other vehicles. In my view it's an apples and oranges debate when you're talking about a group of vehicles around $19k-$23k versus a group of vehicles around $28k-$32k. Frankly, I'm impressed with what we can get for around $20, and I'm just looking for insight from those who own one.

Car turned off while driving? What could it be?
Yesterday i was driving at around 40mph and my car just turned off and it would not turn back on. I was stuck in the middle of the road and it would not turn back on. I eventually got it home by turning it on and launching it as fast as i could since i was only about a block away from home. On the way home it turned off about 3 more times. Once i parked it it stayed on and now it turns on stays on, though haven't driven it since. What could be wrong with it? By the way its a 92 Mitsubishi 3000gt VR4.
