Is there something wrong with my brakes? ?

I have a 2008 Saab 95. Whenever I am driving it I have to push the brake pedal a lot harder than other cars that I have driven. The pedal is not spongy feeling, but it feels like the brakes are going bad. My dad says that they are fine but i think they are very unresponsive. Is there something wrong? Is there anything i can do to make the brakes more sensitive/responsive?

I have a Holden Astra which is European made, and is expensive for parts and unreliable as hell. I really want a nice car that has plenty of guts and is reliable and comfortable. I've been looking at saabs and they seem really nice, but I'm wondering if they're just gunna be too expensive? Suggestions for good medium sized sedans will be appreciated if you dont think I should buy a Saab. My budget is 20,000, I live in Australia do if you suggest something cheap according to location that'd be good bear in mind, I want a NICE car, a cheap luxury car of you will.

I'm looking at buying a 2005 Saab 9-3 2.0t. It is a 5 speed manual and has 125,000 miles. I was wondering if anybody has any insight on this particular year and model of this car. Also has had only 2 owners. Do you believe this car is worthy to buy, based of this description and your own knowledge of these cars. I appreciate all the help I can receive.
