I have a 2003 Saturn Vue, with over 173k miles. I know I need a tune up, Help?
What all is or should be included in a tune up for my vehicle? I have had the car since 2010 and bought it when it was over 100k mi. My vehicle is stick shift (standard). The oil has been changed w/in the past month. I am trying to do some research so that I do not get charged an outrageous price...but I also know it depends on what services will be included (spark plug, wire replacement, etc...)

The car does seem to eat gas...I only drive to work and home most of the wk (15-20min commute both ways), and car seems to burn through oil quickly. I kept extra oil in the back to keep oil at decent level. I have had the alternatorr replaced twice (late last yr and this wk) luckily the mechanic got it under a warranty. I believe the car may have some kind of electrical problem...because my blinkers do not always work and I have to tap the hazard lights button to get them the blinker to work. Also my check engine light has been on for some months, but every time I have had the mechanic and Autozone hook it up no codes come up. The mechanic did a quick clean of the idle control (because the car would not idle)...he said I need a tune up. He hasn't given me an estimate bc he has to look up parts..etc.. but I know it will prob not be less than 300 (bc he did a tune up on my cousins car and it was over this amount and he quoted a little under 400 for my mothers car...both of them have
03 Saturn Vue AC not working.?
A year ago I bought a Saturn Vue and the AC was functioning perfectly. Now that winter has come and gone, it is not working. I just replaced the compressor, the accumulator, and had new freon put in it. The first day after that repair, the AC was so so...not quite what it used to be and now it is just completely shot all over again. The parts were bought from a reputable company that I have purchased from many times previously so I doubt they are faulty. What could be the problem? Before the repair my car was leaking freon, now it's not so that's not part of the problem anymore. What should I do?
Is this a good used car to buy? (2005 Saturn Vue 4 Cylinder, 5 Speed Manual)?
I am currently in the process of finalizing the purchase of this car. We have talked the dealer down to give us the car for $7500 tax and tags included. The car itself has roughly 70,000 miles on it. I personally didn't drive the car due to my lack of knowledge in driving a manual (I'm learning) but I brought someone with me who tested the car and he said the gears shifted perfectly and the car drove very well. When we first looked at the car, it was valued at the dealership for roughly $9000 on their website. As of tonight, tht price has actually gone down to roughly $8000.
Really what I want to know is if this is a smart purchase, any major problems with the car, and If I should back away before I get screwed over. I cannot afford to purchase a mistake. My current car, being a 2000 ford contour has recently needed over $1500 worth of repairs in under a month and is running my pockets dry, with only more and more problems in the foreseeable future.

2005 Saturn VUE AWD V6 making a really weird noise?
It's only got about 60K miles on it. I'm the only owner.
But when I drive it, I hear this very strange noise over my left shoulder and it comes every 8 seconds. Speed doesn't matter. If the car is running, even idling at a light or parked, it makes this weird sound every 8 seconds. It's like a bird cawing?
If you turn the car off, sound stops.
It's definitely something mechanical, as it happens exactly every 8 seconds if the car is turned on.
In 30+ years of driving, I have never heard anything like it. It sounds like it's just behind the driver's seat.
Any ideas?!
How can I get out of a loan for a junk car?
Not even 6 months ago I bought a 2003 saturn Vue from carmax, got it home it drove fine for a while. then with no warning the transmission went out. then I called GM because they now own Saturn they tell me that the car should have never been sold to me because of all the recalls on the tranny for that car. And now I do not know what to do, the car is still broke down, up for repo and they said it will cost at least 7k to replace the tranny, the stupid car only blue books at 6600. I can not file bankruptcy on it because my mother -in-law co-signed for it. Can anyone give me advice please.
I can not afford to pay the payments because i have having to pay someone to barrow a working car. And the bank that I have the loan threw is a joke and there being sued by thousands of people. Youcan look it up, santander usa. there a joke. And the reason the transmission is so high is because they do not make the cvt anymore.
