I'm looking for a new car. I've had a Subaru legacy outback wagon for a really long time, and she's getting pretty old and has a lot of problems. I'm now looking for newer used cars. I just don't know what's really reliable, good on gas, and not very expensive to fix. Looking for suggestions.

Are Kumho tires, made in Korea, reliable?

The subaru dealer recommended Kumho tires. I never heard of them and was wondering if anyone has an opinion on these tires or can recommend any other brand. If there are any brand that you would definitely not buy I would appreciate hearing about that also. I have a 2004 subaru outback wagon.

Would empty coolant resevoir cause check engine light to come on?

I have a 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback. Yesterday the check engine light came on. Of course, not being a mechanic there's only so much I can check. Oil is fine, the only thing I noted was that my coolant resevoir is completely dry. There is coolant in the radiator, however. Just wondering if this would make the check engine light come on? I should add that I'm not in a position to do anything to fix what might be wrong, so there's no need to add a lot of info of what ifs and what to dos. So there will be no "updates" to keep track of. And yes, the coolant in the radiator is full.
