Recent Toyota Camry Discussions:

What kind of car should I get?

For the past few months, my sisters and I have owned a 1992 Toyota Camry that was given to us by our church. It ran well for about 5 months, but now it's in such bad shape that we're considering just getting a new one. The road in our neighborhood is gravel and full of pot holes, so anything we get would have to be able to handle that. I also want something rather small, since we're only using it to go to work and back. I've been thinking maybe just a newer Toyota Camry, and my mom suggested a Honda Accord. The gist of what I need is something small and sturdy. Any suggestions?

which way is less money to get a new key for my 1995 toyota camry?

Everyone is telling me to go to a lock smith.

What you think about new 2012 Kia Sorento or Optima?

Compared to pricey Toyota 4Runner, Camry or Honda Pilot, Accord? I have a family of 4 people, 2 kids, 2 and 5 year olds a wife, and it'll be our primary vehicle for at least 5-7 years and we live in small town of 250k population. Safety, Reliability and Warranty? In this vulnerable economy I was thinking to invest in Kia Motors car, only becuz I can afford a down payment and lower monthly payments. Kia owners what do you advise?

Car scratched after service, did everything right... still not satisfied what do I do?

I'm from Ontario, Canada and I'm 19. Parents own a Toyota Camry, I brought it into my local Toyota to have it serviced. - The brake pads changed. When I came out, they had told me my car was washed and ready to drive. After service, I usually look at my car since I had an incident once before (I took care of myself). I found a scratch on my car that was NOT there when I came in. Immediately the "Assistant Service Manager" came out and asked if anything was wrong. Funny how 4 people hold the same title and sit beside each other... I explained how I did not come in with the scratch and have one on my bumper now. My parents have been going to that Toyota for 20 years and this thing hasn't ever happened. He went on to say "This 100% did not happen at this Toyota." I asked him if he was watching my car the whole time, he said "No." I then replied, "Well, how can you be sure?" He told me to wait as he's going to get the manager. I already knew the manager wasn't there because another Assistant Service Manager stated that before, as I overheard in conversation. I wanted to see what he'd do... He got the "Shop Foreman" He said the same thing "It 100% did not happen here." I was starting to think they were trained to say this. They trust a local accident repair shop called "CarStar" I've got into a car accident that wasn't my fault and have been there before. I went to see the guy I knew there. He said the scratch was less than a day old and looked very fresh. Although, Toyota states it isn't and "The Foreman and Asst. Service Manager are professionals." I took multiple pictures and eventually ended up with a ton of evidence piled up against them. The Service Manager got the General Manager down and the General Manager has said his people are not professionals and have no idea what they're saying. The CarStar guy is right and for the Service Manager to take care of it. They offered me a touch-up paint pen... this is a deep scratch. My dad said it's like ripping your seat and then handing you a needle/thread. Toyota also said, it could've happened in the parking lot. That's public property, but I stated that the car is in their possession. I've handed over the keys, you need to take care of it. I can't come and have scratches on my car everytime I come here! What should I do? PLEASE HELP.

Loose steering wheel?

I drive an '07 Toyota Camry and my steering wheel feels a bit loose. Lately I have to turn it a lot more than usual to get my wheels to turn. I read on another website that the steering rack may be worn and has to be replaced. How much would it cost to do this, and what other causes might be making the steering wheel loose?

Can I change the power window master switch wire harness on my 1995 toyota camry?

My passenger side window will only work in one direction; either up or down. After I have replaced the power window fuse, regulator and motor, it still isn't working properly. I checked the switch on the passenger side and it is ok. The master switch is ok, but it is only working in one direction. I was told that it has something to do with the wiring connection that may have become worn between the master switch serving power to the passenger side window. I have tried to research wiring harnesses for the power window master switch, but have not had any luck understanding what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is extremely hot where I am from. To recap--there seems to be a shortage of power relaying from the master control switch to the passenger side window of my 1995 toyota camry that is only allowing it to roll down and not up or vice versa depending on how the wires are rearranged. I have already troubleshot the power window fuse, the window regulator and motor as well as checked both of the switches on the passenger and driver side. I honestly don't know where to go from here. Can anyone help me out?

Would this car survive driving from Ohio all the way to Florida?

i have a 2001 toyota camry, has about 120,000 miles on it, nothing is seriously broken on it, just AC doesn't work, and the check engine light is on, but overall it drives pretty good, i'm thinking if we can drive it from Cleveland, Ohio to Orlando, Florida would it survive or can it break, i mean camry's are pretty stong cars, just want to see your opinion

Why won't car stay on unless I step for a while on gas pedal?

I'm taking it to the mechanic next week but of course I'm wondering what it could be.it's happening half of the time I start it now wheter the engine is warmed up or cold.i have a 94 Toyota camry.so I crank the ignition and itll feel weak then it starts to shake and stumble, turn off and just not start.it'll stay on if I step on the gas for a bit.then it will run fine but there's a always a chance it will do the same at my next stop when I try to turn it on.I always try to have half full tank and have changed the fuel filter and added fuel injector cleaner.any ideas what it could be causing this? thanks for any info.

Nissan Altima 2.5 S or Toyota Camry Hybrid 2012?

I am thinking about two options 1. New Nissan Altima 2.5S (no packages), $25,000 2. New Toyota Camry Hybrid 2012, $30,000-32,000 I understand Camry is more expensive and because it is Hybrid, but I also have an option of buying a base model of Nissan Altima 2012 2.5S for $25,000 including all promotions and discounts. Speaking about 5 years of driving, would these two cars be reliable? What do you think? Is there a good argument for not buying Altima for some reason? It is cheaper.
