Looking for a first car?
Hey I'm 17 about to be a senior and have been looking around for my first car. Mostly over the internet, and mostly from forums via google. It'd be great to hear some advice, and for someone to help point me in the right direction. At the moment, I've been looking at a Toyota Celica, Ford Probe, Honda Prelude, and Mitsubishi Eclipse. I've also considered a Mazda Miata, but the only thing that turns me off from it is the room for ONLY two. Even though, i know those other cars don't have too much room in the back. I plan on buying in a few months when I've made a little more from working over the summer. I don't plan on making an mods like halo led lights or anything.
However, a big thing to me is that I want to put in a decent sound system; not something that you can hear a block a way, but sounds pretty nice when you're inside driving. I've looked at car decks, speakers, sub woofers and amps for a while now. I wouldn't want to dump $500+ in a car that I won't have for a while or isn't worth it. Should I refrain from ever putting something like this in and wait until I pay $10,000+ for a car?
Is it easy to sell a toyota celica (2001) in California?
Is there tight regulation on smog pollution? If so, what would that involve? (my car seems to be pretty clean with the exhaust, but you never know). Would I have to install an extra muffler/converter?
Would it be easier to sell my car in California, Arizona or Las Vegas?

Is a head gasket on an engine? I need a new head gasket and engine. Do I replace both or just need an engine?
My car 1995 toyota celica was overheating. Took it to mechanic. They said I need a new head gasket $1,000.00 but if they replace it there is a chance I will need a new engine because the radiator is leaking water into the engine and they said because the pressure might ruin the engine. I'm a woman. Don't understand. Either $1,000.00 for new head gasket or $1,600.00 to get a used engine to fix the whole thing with the head gasket thing. Does the $1600.00 include the head gasket? Is the head gasket on the engine or are they separate things? I forgot to ask. Thanks
no, nothing is smoking. I have been driving it for months and it has been fine until today. Today I drove it and I noticed it was overheating and all the way to the H at the top so I pulled over for a bit and turned my car off. Then I drove straight to a mechanic...well....discount tires store who also fixes other problems and they did a compression test? some sort of spray test pressurized or something. They said my radiator cap was bad and that someone tried to cover up and seal a leak and that when they did this test it would take this crud off the cap so my car might leak water/fluid more. Anyways, they filled it full of water and said to keep checking the water and that I can't drive far. They said that even if they fixed the head gasket there was a 50/50 chance that the pressure would ruin the engine and I would need a whole new engine.
I can't understand too if the pressure thing they did took the crud off the cap why it would leak more water? Water would leak from the bottom not the top of the cap. idk
I have never checked the antifreeze/water since I bought the car months ago. I didn't even know where it was. They had to show me and it was really low.

Ummm I think being a women IS an excuse because most women don't know about this stuff and most women are not mechanics. The only women I see who are mechanics are butch. lol. I'm only saying I'm a woman because my username is a man's and a lot of men would know about this stuff.
I had the oil checked about a month ago and it was clean (easy lube checked it). I will have it checked again tomorrow and get a second opinion. Thank you so much because I am broke! There is no problems at all with the car except for today when it was overheating. I hadn't put water in the car for months cause I didn't know. I don't drive that much. Maybe 3,000 miles a year if that on a car.

Ideas for a custom number plate?
Hi me and my dad are going to be getting a custom numberplate for my mums sports car. This car is a Toyota Celica GT4, we have come up with a few ones such as GT4TOY ($2000, a bit expensive) and GT44 ($1000) I would want the number plate to be 2 numbers and 2 letters because anything more would be too expensive.

2001 Toyota celica? Help negotiating?
So I found a 2001 Toyota celica GT on Craigslist, Clean title, automatic, with 125,100 miles on it. The owner (not dealer) is asking for $6,300. I checked on KBB it's listed for private party sale in "Excellent" condition for $5,192 and "very good" condition for $4,892. To me the car looks in "very good condition from the pictures. Why is the car so overpriced though? How low can I expect the owner of the car to? I don't want to go check out the car which is miles away if I'm not going buy it. Even though I really need to drive to school. :/
Electrical problem with 5th gen toyota celica gt?
I was driving my celica today and all of a sudden my car's volt gauge, temp. Gauge, rpm gauge, a/c, sunroof and power windows stopped working. My speedometer and power locks still work though so idk it its a relay or something that went bad. If its a relay, which relay would it be?

Should I get Toyota celica gts 01 or an 01 eclipse gt? I know the specs for both but not sure which one is best for me and both manual. 2000 toyota celica gt bogs down when accelerating?
Started it up yesterday and pushed on the gas and noticed that the engine was sputtering when i did so until roughly over 3,000 rpm. I have 5 codes p1300 igniter circuit malfunction #1 p1305 igniter circuit malfunction#2 p1310 igniter circuit malfunction #3 p1315 igniter circuit malfunction #4 & p0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire detected. Any thoughts on what the issue here could be?
