Can someone please help me figure out why my car is overheating?
My car is a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta. I took it to my local mechanic and they said it was the thermostat. We changed it but it's still overheating. Any ideas?
Stick shift or automatic?
Im 16 years old, just got my licence a month ago, and i currently have my moms 2010 white VW jetta SE.
The thing is that when my brother who is 14 turns 16, my mom and i agreed to pass down the jetta to him, requiring me to buy a new car. The car i would get should prefferably be under 20k and i would like for it to be sporty.
I have been looking at different cars and have made a list of a few that have stood out to me in price, performance, and quality:
-2005 chrysler crossfire SRT-6
-2006 ford mustang v8
-2004 nissan 350z
-2007 Volkswagen GTI
-2004 Infinity G35
Now the thing is that all of those cars are availible in manual stick shift, and me being a car guy, would love to have more control of my car and manual just seems like more of an experience and more fun. So what's your opinion? Should i get a manual or automatic? Have any other nice looking sporty cars that you could suggest to me?

Why does my battery light come on sometimes in my 2004 volkswagen jetta?
I have a 2004 volkswagen jetta, whenever Im starting it, it the battery light comes on but then once it actually starts it turns off and then recently i was driving and as i approached a red light, it just completely stopped, radio off and everything and my battey light came on, i tried starting it a few more times and still would not start so i waited a minute and tied again and it turned on and has woke ever since but Im afraid that it will happene again and this time won't start again, is it the battery or could it be the alternator or something else? the battery is not that old
should i buy a honda civic ( if so, what kind), or volkswagen jetta or passat?
which of these cars is the safest and has the best equipment? can anyone gimmi any review of these cars? it would be perfect if you have owned or drove one before. if jetta and passat dont have that much difference, i might just get a jetta, but all i know is that passsat is larger than jetta. and i just dont know how to compare honda with bolkswagen... help me :(
Volkswagen Dealership honoring used car warranty on 2007 GLI Fahrenheit.?
I am looking to purchase a used 2007 VW Jetta GLI Fahrenheit edition. It has 44k miles, and is in relatively good condition. Everything checked out with the VW dealer (all the minor repairs are still under drive train warranty from VW or from recalls). The main problem they found was the A/C wasn't working. It could have been because the A/C needs to be recharged from sitting at the Used Car dealership for a while, or there is a leak, or (worst case scenario) the compressor is broken and needs to be replaced. I have already talked the deal down $2,000 from their asking price and they won't go any farther lower, nor will they cover the $1,400 that it may cost to repair the compressor. What they did offer me, was the Wheelz Ultimate Used Car Extended Warranty plan. This is for 3 months and will cover any repair, that isn't normal wear and tear.
So, if you want to weigh in on if I should even buy they car, I'd entertain the ideas. But basically, I want the car, if it wasnt for this snag; Id already own it.
Also, has anyone ever dealt with this Warranty and does anyone know if VW dealerships honor it? Thanks for reading if you're still here.
whats better a new or used compresser?
i have a 2000 volkswagen jetta and the compresser so my air conditioner doesn't work which is miserable because its so hot. i really dint have that much money to spend but im just not sure if a used compresser will last.
should i buy a honda civic hf, toyota corolla, volkswagen jetta, mazda 3, or honda cr-z ?
